The University will have regard to the Principles in the drafting, review or amendment of any policy or procedure. Note: These Principles are based on 'A Model Code for the Protection of Freedom of Speech and Academic Freedom in Australian Higher Education Providers', attached to the 'Report of the Independent Review of Freedom of Speech in Australian Higher Education Providers' dated March 2019 by the Hon. In support of this commitment, the University adopts the principles for the protection of freedom of speech and academic freedom in section 2.0 (Principles) and declares its commitment to upholding these Principles. The University’s commitment to academic freedom and freedom of speech enables the pursuit of truth through a focus on the advancement and dissemination of knowledge, in support of the University’s mission.
